Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Faith is not an abstract concept. Faith in itself has been portrayed as a hurdle for a believer to cross. God’s ways are simple and it takes man’s ideas to complicate it. When you’re enjoying Jesus’ love, His Grace, His Forgiveness and His Righteousness, you are actually walking in faith! Simply put, faith is not something that you need between yourself and Jesus. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Forget focusing on the faith bit and rest in His love for you! When you are conscious of His grace upon your life, God calls it faith. It’s that simple! Let not religion bog you down with another of its hurdles from enjoying Jesus!

Whatever you see in the natural, that pertains to your five senses of touch, taste, hear, feel, smell, does not require faith. Your five senses convince you of the presence or absence of something. This is good as long as we are in this world. We need to trust our senses to drive, to walk around, to see people etc. But when it comes to things of God, we see through the eyes of faith. In other words, our five senses cannot perceive the things of God.

Let me illustrate with a short example. The day you were born again into Christ is the time you received Christ into your life and became a new creation. But when you look at yourself in the mirror you realise you’re still the same person! Physically nothing has changed. But in the eyes of God, you are a new creation created in His righteousness and His perfection. You are an image of Christ Himself walking on this earth. You cannot feel it, you can only believe it. When it comes to your righteousness, it is a gift from God. You are righteous by faith. In other words, you cannot feel righteous, you only know you are righteous by faith!

Many believers struggle with faith because they want to feel their faith. In other words, they want to feel their righteousness, they want to feel their healing and the like. But the Word says, you cannot feel your faith, you can only believe. In the case of healing, when you see yourself healed because Jesus bore your sickness, your healing manifests in the natural. When you have sinned or made a mistake, you are STILL righteous in Christ because your righteousness is based on faith in His Righteousness, not your actions. In essence, you cannot lose it by your wrong deeds. You may say, “I don’t feel righteous,” but that’s precisely why you need to believe that you’re righteous! Stop focusing on the goodness of your faith and start focusing on the abundance of His grace and love for you! Even your faith, Jesus takes care; you just enjoy His love!
